The difference between telephoto lens, 80-200mm 2.8, versus wide angle lens, 12-24mm 2.8.

These were taken about 10 minutes from my house at one of the deltas in Stockton, California. Interestingly Mount Diablo in very background doesn’t change perspective because it’s too far away.

I think I prefer the first picture which capture greater clouds details

But if I have to choose, I'd frame the wide angle lens image - I prefer the layout of landscape better. Cheers, Filip

the ripple effect in the water to the lower right corner....

Clouds are the focus in the first one whereas water is on the second. Both good photos.

I also have those same two focal lengths. A fast 80-200 is very useful but a full frame 12-24 rectilinear can produce very striking images. Especially at 12mm! ;-)
